In Germany we have a well-developed occupational safety and health system of long-standing tradition. The success of this system which can i.a. be seen from the significant decrease in the number of fatal accidents at work is convincing. Nonetheless we have to make new efforts - not with the aim of replacing the old system but in order to further improve it.
